Prayer is an important part of the life of Evangel.

Prayer Actvities

  • Weekly prayer meeting - the time begins with a brief devotional or discussion of a Bible passage, followed by sharing and prayer. The full Pause to Pray sheet, including a missionary update, is used to prompt the prayer time.

Meets in the Fireside Room, Wednesday evenings at 7 pm. (NOTE: For January and February, 2014, the prayer hour will shift to Sundays during the LIF@E Time hour. This is an experiment to avoid the number of weather-related cancellations that often occur on Wednesday evenings that time of year, and to increase participation among those who find it difficult to attend at the mid-week time.

  • Men's prayer breakfast (weekly) - for a number of years, a small group of men have gathered for breakfast and a time of fellowship and prayer. All Evangel men are invited to participate whenever they are able. Our time usually ends between 7:45 and 8:00, but you are welcome to attend for a portion of the time that fits your schedule.

Meets most Thursay mornings at 7:45am at Oakfield Restaurant (in the mini-mall on the southwest corner of County Farm and Geneva Roads.).

  • Men's Connection (monthly) - starting with coffee and donuts (typically) and a time of conversation, followed by a short devotional thought, we then move into a time of sharing and prayer.

Meets in the Fireside Room, normally the second Saturday of each month.

Prayer Resources

  • Pause to Pray - the full sheet, including a missinoary update, is used during the weekly prayer meeting. Copies are normally available on the literature table in the lobby. An abbreviated version is used in the Sunday worship bulletin.
