This Is the Day (#209)
This is the day, this is the day that the Lord has made,
That the Lord has made;
We will rejoice, we will rejoice and be glad in it,
And be glad in it.
This is the day that the Lord has made;
We will rejoice and be glad in it.
This is the day, this is the day that the Lord has made.

This Is the Day the Lord Has Made
Leader: I will sing of Your strength and will joyfully proclaim Your faithful love in the morning. For You have been a stronghold for me, a refuge in my day of trouble.
People: To You, my strength, I sing praises, because God is my stronghold – my faithful God.
Leader: I exalt You, my God the King, and praise Your name forever and ever.
People: I will praise You every day; I will honor Your name forever and ever.
Leader: I will speak of Your glorious splendor and Your wonderful works. They will proclaim the power of Your awe-inspiring works, and I will declare Your greatness.
(Psalms 59:16-17; 145; 1-2, 5-6)
This Is My Father’s World (#143)
This is my Father’s world, and to my list’ning ears
All nature sings, and round me rings the music of the spheres.
This is my Father’s world, I rest me in the thought
Of rocks and trees, of skies and seas –
His hand the wonders wrought.
This is my Father’s world, the birds their carols raise;
The morning light, the lily white declare their Maker’s praise.
This is my Father’s world, He shines in all that’s fair;
In the rustling grass I hear Him pass,
He speaks to me everywhere.\
This is my Father’s world, O let me ne’er forget
That though the wrong seems oft so strong, God is the Ruler yet.
This is my Father’s world, the battle is not done;
Jesus, who died, shall be satisfied, and earth and heav’n be one.

To Ask the Lord’s Blessing . . . Warren Magnuson
May God’s Creation Praise Him
May none of God’s wonderful works keep silence, night or morning. Bright stars, high mountains, the depths of the seas, sources of rushing rivers: may all these break into song as we sing to Father, Son and Holy Spirit. May all the angels in the heavens reply: Amen, Amen, Amen. Power, praise, honor, eternal glory to God, the only Giver of grace, Amen, Amen, Amen.

Song of Affirmation
God, You Spin the Whirling Planets
(Tune of “Our Great Savior”)
God, You spin the whirling planets,
Fill the seas and spread the plain,
Mold the mountains, fashion blossoms,
Call forth sunshine, wind and rain.
We, created in Your image, would a true reflection be
Of Your justice, grace and mercy,
And the truth that makes us free.
You have called us to be faithful in our life and ministry.
We respond in grateful worship joined in one community.
When we blur Your gracious image,
Focus us and make us whole,
Healed and strengthened as Your people,
We move onward toward Your goal.
God, Your will is still creating, calling us to life made new,
Now reveal to us fresh vistas where there’s work to dare to do.
Keep us clear of all distortion, fashion us with loving care,
Thus new creatures in Your image,
We’ll proclaim Christ everywhere.

Prayer for Eternal Life
“Dear God, I confess that I have sinned many times in word and deed. I humbly confess that I have broken Your law and that my sins have separated me from You. Here and now, I ask Jesus Christ to be my Savior. I believe that Jesus is Your only begotten Son who died on the cross for me and rose from the dead. With all my heart and soul, I trust Jesus alone for my salvation. Please forgive my sins, save me, and make me a brand-new person. These things I ask in Jesus’ name, Amen.”
