Worship Service - August 12, 2012

We Gather Together . . . Pastor Dave, Leader

We Are God’s People (#399 vs. 1-2)

We are God’s people, the chosen of the Lord,
Born of His Spirit, established by His Word.
Our cornerstone is Christ alone, and strong in Him we stand;
O let us live transparently
And walk heart to heart and hand in hand.

We are God’s loved ones, the Bride of Christ, our Lord,
For we have known it, the love of God outpoured.
Now let us learn how to return the gift of love once given;
O let us share each joy and care
And live with a zeal that pleases Heav’n.

God Is Here!
Leader: God is here! As we His people meet to offer praise and prayer,
People: May we find in fuller measure what it is in Christ we share.
Leader: Lord of all, of church and kingdom, in an age of change and doubt,
People: Keep us faithful to the gospel, help us work Your purpose out.

We Are God’s People (#399 vs. 3)

We are the Body of which the Lord is Head,
Called to obey Him, now risen from the dead.
He wills us be a family diverse, yet truly one;
O let us give our gifts to God
And so shall His work on earth be done.
(by Bryan Jeffery Leach ©1976 Fred Bock Music Company ARR, UBP)

God Is Here!
Leader: Here, in this day’s dedication, all we have to give, receive;
People: We who cannot live without You, we adore You! We believe.

Offertory Songs

There’s a River of Life

I’ve got a river of life flowing out of me,
Makes the lame to walk and the blind to see;
Opens prison doors, sets the captives free,
I’ve got a river of life flowing out of me.

Spring up, O well within my soul!
Spring up, O well and make me whole.
Spring up, O well, and give to me that life abundantly.
(by L. Casebolt)

Jesus, Lord to Me (#47)

Jesus, Jesus, Lord to me. Master, Savior, Prince of Peace!
Ruler of my heart today, Jesus, Lord to me.

Sing Praises to His Name . . . Pastor Dave, Leader

Leader: Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.
People: But how can they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how can they believe without hearing about Him?
Leader: And how can they hear without a preacher? And how can they preach unless they are sent?
People: As it is written: How welcome are the feet of those who announce the gospel of good things!
(Romans 10:13-15)

I’ll Tell the World That I’m a Christian (#448 vs. 1)

I’ll tell the world that I’m a Christian;
I’m not ashamed His name to bear.
I’ll tell the world that I’m a Christian; (continued)
I’ll take Him with me anywhere.
I’ll tell the world how Jesus saved me,
And how He gave me a life brand new;
And I know that if you trust Him
That all He gave me He’ll give to you.
I’ll tell the world that He’s my Savior;
No other one could love me so.
My life, my all is His forever, and where He leads me I will go.

Sing Praise to the Father

Sing praise to the Father, sing praise to the Son,
Sing praise to the Spirit, great God Three in One;
The God of salvation, of glory, of grace,
Who wrought our redemption – my soul, sing His praise!

Refrain:
Bless the Lord, bless the Lord,
Bless the Lord, O my soul,
For the grace that redeems,
For the love that makes whole;
O come and adore Him, His glories proclaim,
And worship before Him – the Lord is His name!

Prayer for Eternal Life

“Dear God, I confess that I have sinned many times in word and deed. I humbly confess that I have broken Your law and that my sins have separated me from You. Here and now, I ask Jesus Christ to be my Savior. I believe that Jesus is Your only begotten Son who died on the cross for me and rose from the dead. With all my heart and soul, I trust Jesus alone for my salvation. Please forgive my sins, save me, and make me a brand-new person. These things I ask in Jesus’ name, Amen.”
